I use the management side, but not the community so much; for me it is the ability to pool all my accounts together and look at the data across them, how much comes in and goes out, etc. (Doubly important when you're self-employed and monthly income can vary wildly.)

(Also, they have some great support people - I have had to get them to help me untangle big chunks of data more than once.)

Wow, I had not previously heard of tunecore and sonicbids, but both look
like really excellent companies. An interesting angle on the music space.

In consulting I provide really basic sysadmin stuff. Good for remote
companies under 5 employees. As for the gig, I'm not taking on anyone new
right now, but that's anyway for the lead.

I would pay for Wesabe, especially if it let me do more advanced reporting type stuff.

I pay for flickr, and used to pay for emusic but stopped. Bought music from Amazon but not iTunes.

I pay for a similar set of services and I think that is about it. I do pay for email but even that I have been debating. I use Yahoo to create dummy spam email addresses (so I don't give out my real email address address).

I recently ended my SecondLife account ($75 year). I also spend enough money with GoDaddy for renewing domain names. Besides SL, all the services I paid for bring real ultility into my life where as most other web services that I use could be considered just for fun so I don't know if I pay for example: Twitter.

I'll take liberty then :) Our "free generation" was weened onto digital music through Napster. That one service may very well have 'legitimized' music piracy in the minds of the early/young internet users. The fact that iTunes/Amazon has finally succeeded in switching me (former pirate) into paying customer is quite the feat!

So I think any apps that do micro-payments for digital content is worth including. (SecondLife, IMVU, etc)

It's one more way "freemium" apps can convert users from the "free generation" into paying customers.

I think aim would top my list. I'd pay a lot for that. I'm always willing to pay for something that is slightly better. gmail is the perfect example. I download all of my emails into outlook. At that level, it makes no difference whether its yahoo or google. If google charged for gmail, id still go with them because the spam filter is unparalleled. However, id still pay for aim although gmail has gchat, simply because my network lives on it.

I think e-commerce doesn't count, but all-you-can-eat plans (eg Y! Music,
Rhasody, Napster) do count.... but I'm not sure why I made up those
arbitrary rules. Feel free to argue otherwise.
